Northern Pizza: The History of Your Favorite Pizza Style
First, if you don’t know what northern style pizza is, allow us to explain…
Northern pizza originates in Northern Italy even though pizza has its roots in southern Italy. The two types of pizza have distinctly different styles but the biggest difference is the type of crust. While southern Italy has pizza that has a thinner crust, northern pizza has a more bread-like crust that is thicker and – in our opinion – more delicious! It’s not just the crust of a northern pizza that’s different, though, the toppings are usually thicker and heartier compared to the thinner sliced toppings you’d find on a more traditional southern Italian pizza.
So, which of these two pizza styles is best? There really is no “best” because different styles of pizza are suited to different people, but we happen to be fans of northern pizza and the thick and bready crust!
