They even have a dog park, boat ramps, playgrounds, and nature trails! Worried about the heat? Don’t be, this is a nice shady spot unlike some of the other more exposed parks in the area.
2. We’ve Got Some Great Animals Too!
If you’re more of an “animal person” and less of a hiking person, the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary at 600 U.S. 19 Alt, 34683 Palm Harbor, FL is one of our favorite local places to visit! The sanctuary houses a number of primates who have been rescued from various situations and who are now living under the care of volunteers who spoil them to no end! The sanctuary isn’t huge so it won’t be a full day activity, but it’s a nicely kept sanctuary where you can learn more about the animals in their care and you can even feed the monkeys!
3. Fishing Expeditions
If you’re more of a sporting type, you might be glad to know that there are plenty of fishing expeditions available here too! A half-day fishing trip out on the water and you’ll come back feeling accomplished because there’s no doubt that you’ll catch some incredible fish in our local waters!
4. Spa Days
If the rest of the family is go, go, go, but you’re ready to sit back and enjoy a little “me time”, we have a great spa here at the Indaba Spa at the Innisbrook Resort. While they all go their separate ways (they can even play golf at the Innisbrook golf course), you can sit back with an ice-cold drink and let one of the professional masseurs melt away all of your cares. When you’re finished and feeling great, you can have their team do your hair and makeup too!
